Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.66% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 3.93% or 2.36 points to trade at 62.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 3.86% or 0.18 points to end at 4.84 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 3.49% or 250.00 points to 7420.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which fell 0.91% or 0.35 points to trade at 38.25 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) declined 0.67% or 0.04 points to end at 5.90 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was down 0.31% or 0.05 points to 16.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 298 to 288 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) fell to all time lows; losing 0.31% or 0.05 to 16.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.19% or 0.68 to $58.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.50% or 0.32 to hit $63.77 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.70% or 8.40 to trade at $1194.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 1.00% to 3.9862, while USD/PLN fell 0.69% to 3.7021.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 97.94.
