Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.27% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.21% or 2.80 points to trade at 69.30 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 3.83% or 299.00 points to end at 8099.00 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 3.65% or 7.00 points to 198.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 2.34% or 0.50 points to trade at 20.90 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.22% or 0.06 points to end at 4.86 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 0.92% or 4.45 points to 476.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 316 to 271 and 101 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.56% or 0.32 to $57.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $65.22 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.40% or 28.20 to trade at $1203.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 1.28% to 3.9900, while USD/PLN fell 1.47% to 3.6578.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 96.75.
