Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 3.57% or 0.35 points to trade at 10.15 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.25% or 2.04 points to end at 64.73 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 2.96% or 0.16 points to 5.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 1.49% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.64 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.42% or 0.78 points to end at 54.01 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 1.35% or 0.74 points to 53.89.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 233 and 170 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.64% or 0.31 to $48.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.15% or 0.56 to hit $49.17 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.54% or 6.65 to trade at $1222.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.44% to 4.4083, while USD/PLN fell 0.54% to 3.9517.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.47.
