Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.77% or 0.77 points to trade at 16.92 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) added 3.79% or 5.25 points to end at 143.85 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 3.45% or 0.16 points to 4.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which fell 1.51% or 1.42 points to trade at 92.58 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.28% or 100.00 points to end at 7700.00 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was down 1.13% or 5.10 points to 447.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 285 to 263 and 112 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.14% or 0.08 to $57.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.44% or 0.92 to hit $62.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1187.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.52% to 4.1287, while USD/PLN fell 0.60% to 3.7921.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.49.
