Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Energy and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 3.04% or 0.16 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.03% or 5.00 points to end at 170.00 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was up 3.00% or 9.10 points to 312.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which fell 4.28% or 1.48 points to trade at 33.08 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 2.82% or 0.17 points to end at 5.85 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 2.58% or 0.10 points to 3.77.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 265 to 258 and 144 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.63% or 0.79 to $47.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.87% or 0.91 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.45 to trade at $1247.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.47% to 4.4383, while USD/PLN rose 0.67% to 3.9640.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 95.42.
