Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Media and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.88% or 111.05 points to trade at 3971.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 2.40% or 0.060 points to end at 2.560 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 2.12% or 3.70 points to 178.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which fell 1.49% or 0.40 points to trade at 26.50 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) declined 1.23% or 0.34 points to end at 27.41 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 0.91% or 0.040 points to 4.360.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 269 to 245 and 192 ended unchanged.
Shares in Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) fell to all time lows; losing 1.49% or 0.40 to 26.50.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.21% or 0.54 to $45.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.53% or 0.71 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.48% or 6.35 to trade at $1324.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.35% to 4.3001, while USD/PLN rose 0.58% to 3.8405.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 95.57.
