Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Property, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Petron (PS:PCOR), which rose 6.18% or 0.580 points to trade at 9.960 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 4.41% or 0.410 points to end at 9.700 and Manila Electri (PS:MER) was up 3.76% or 10.200 points to 281.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Globe Telecom (PS:GLO), which fell 3.04% or 80.000 points to trade at 2550.000 at the close. Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) declined 2.17% or 0.100 points to end at 4.500 and Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV) was down 1.67% or 0.950 points to 56.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 112 to 74 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1188.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.02% or 0.59 to hit $58.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.53 to trade at $63.10 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.08% to 7.1922, while USD/PHP rose 0.03% to 44.580.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 97.06.
