Philippines stocks higher at close of trade; PSEi Composite up 0.13%

Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Services and Property sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom (PS:GLO), which rose 5.16% or 126.000 points to trade at 2566.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Universal Robi (PS:URC) added 2.46% or 5.000 points to end at 208.600 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.55% or 12.500 points to 819.000 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alliance Globa (PS:AGI), which fell 2.02% or 0.500 points to trade at 24.300 at the close. Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV) declined 1.91% or 1.100 points to end at 56.500 and Lt Group (PS:LTG) was down 1.76% or 0.260 points to 14.480.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 99 to 88 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) rose to all time highs; up 5.16% or 126.000 to 2566.000.

Gold for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1207.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.20% or 0.69 to hit $58.69 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 0.89 to trade at $64.91 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was up 0.21% to 7.1861, while USD/PHP rose 0.16% to 44.580.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.62.
