Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Electricity and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 0.07% or 0.010 points to trade at 14.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Inretail Peru (LM:INR) added 0.06% or 0.010 points to end at 17.000 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 6.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minsur (LM:MINi), which fell 5.43% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 4.26% or 0.020 points to end at 0.450 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was down 3.35% or 4.840 points to 139.510.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 28 to 3 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.07% or 0.010 to 14.010.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.99% or 0.89 to $43.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.21 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.59% or 7.65 to trade at $1288.15 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.71% to 3.3272, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8258.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 93.02.
