Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 5.00% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 2.63% or 0.005 points to end at 0.195 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which fell 3.57% or 0.440 points to trade at 11.900 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 2.07% or 3.110 points to end at 146.900 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 1.37% or 0.010 points to 0.720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.30% or 0.18 to $60.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.85% or 0.56 to hit $66.25 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1224.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.11% to 3.1515, while EUR/PEN rose 0.41% to 3.5908.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 94.22.
