Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa de Distribucion Electrica de Lima Norte SAA (LM:ENE), which rose 3.70% or 0.200 points to trade at 5.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.96% or 0.330 points to end at 11.480 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 2.74% or 0.004 points to 0.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relapasa (LM:REL), which fell 4.51% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.233 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 2.20% or 3.500 points to end at 155.700 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 1.95% or 0.050 points to 2.510.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.06% or 0.54 to $51.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.80% or 0.43 to hit $54.37 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.69% or 8.10 to trade at $1177.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.01% to 3.4178, while EUR/PEN rose 0.33% to 3.6397.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 100.71.
