Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE), which rose 3.23% or 0.190 points to trade at 6.070 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.02% or 0.210 points to end at 10.610 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 1.18% or 0.010 points to 0.860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 2.51% or 0.130 points to trade at 5.050 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 2.19% or 0.009 points to end at 0.401 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was down 1.85% or 0.60 points to 31.86.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 10 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.29% or 0.15 to $52.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.62% or 0.34 to hit $54.80 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.55 to trade at $1130.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.3925, while EUR/PEN rose 0.38% to 3.5541.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 103.07.
