Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Lima Assorted sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General rose 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 5.88% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.360 at the close. Meanwhile, Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 3.52% or 0.180 points to end at 5.300 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 2.26% or 0.100 points to 4.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intergroup (LM:IFS), which fell 0.66% or 0.200 points to trade at 29.900 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) declined 0.57% or 0.020 points to end at 3.500 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was down 0.23% or 0.010 points to 4.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 6 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.78% or 0.45 to $56.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.94% or 0.61 to hit $64.67 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.29% or 26.90 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.03% to 3.1345, while EUR/PEN rose 0.29% to 3.4004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.89.
