Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Energy and Auto & components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 3.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 10.41% or 5.2 points to trade at 55.1 at the close. Meanwhile, TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OSLO:TGS) added 6.90% or 10.1 points to end at 156.5 and Aker Solutions OL (OSLO:AKSOL) was up 6.70% or 2.11 points to 33.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yara International ASA (OSLO:YAR), which rose 1.35% or 4.6 points to trade at 344.1 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) added 1.71% or 0.03 points to end at 1.61 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) was up 1.74% or 6.1 points to 357.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 138 to 45 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.35% or 1.07 to $46.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.15% or 1.51 to hit $49.65 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1132.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.14% to 9.4099, while USD/NOK rose 0.29% to 8.4068.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 96.14.
