Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 2.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 9.94% or 0.8 points to trade at 8.6 at the close. Meanwhile, Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 7.86% or 0.44 points to end at 6.04 and Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) was up 6.59% or 1.93 points to 31.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 6.79% or 1.8 points to trade at 24.7 at the close. REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) declined 1.86% or 0.03 points to end at 1.48 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was down 1.18% or 0.3 points to 27.6.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 123 to 42 and 21 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.70% or 1.29 to $49.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.72% or 1.34 to hit $50.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.88% or 11.65 to trade at $1329.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.67% to 9.3160, while USD/NOK fell 1.07% to 8.3845.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 95.76.
