Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 8.43% or 5.8 points to trade at 75.2 at the close. Meanwhile, Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) added 4.18% or 2.02 points to end at 50.35 and Statoil ASA (OSLO:STL) was up 3.93% or 5.2 points to 137.4 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which fell 4.33% or 0.5 points to trade at 11.1 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) declined 3.76% or 0.06 points to end at 1.51 and Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) was down 0.89% or 0.60 points to 66.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 99 to 80 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS) fell to all time lows; down 4.33% or 0.5 to 11.1.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.23% or 1.07 to $49.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.82% or 0.43 to hit $53.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.11% or 1.20 to trade at $1095.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.63% to 8.9733, while USD/NOK fell 0.38% to 8.1397.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.96.
