Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 11.82% or 2.5 points to trade at 23.6 at the close. Meanwhile, Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 8.65% or 3.05 points to end at 38.29 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) was up 5.65% or 7.40 points to 138.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which fell 2.11% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.93 at the close. Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) declined 1.66% or 2.3 points to end at 136.2 and Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) was down 1.54% or 2.70 points to 172.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 123 to 87 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) rose to all time highs; up 5.65% or 7.40 to 138.40. Shares in Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) fell to all time lows; down 1.54% or 2.70 to 172.80.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 8.58% or 3.88 to $49.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 8.83% or 4.18 to hit $51.50 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.28% or 15.25 to trade at $1175.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.70% to 9.0236, while USD/NOK fell 0.08% to 8.5288.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 101.70.
