Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 3.55% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 0.12% or 0.009 points to trade at 7.520 at the close. Meanwhile, Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) fell 1.85% or 0.33 points to end at 17.53 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) was down 1.89% or 0.20 points to 10.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which fell 15.43% or 6.93 points to trade at 38.00 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) declined 4.43% or 1.195 points to end at 25.800 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 4.29% or 1.05 points to 23.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 187 to 31 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.89% or 0.20 to 10.36. Shares in Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.29% or 1.05 to 23.45.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 15.60% to 27.80 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.59% or 1.07 to $40.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.43% or 1.14 to hit $45.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.56% or 6.50 to trade at $1159.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.13% to 1.1367, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.7240.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.91% at 94.91.
