Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 3.50%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 0.55% or 0.042 points to trade at 7.601 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) fell 1.41% or 0.049 points to end at 3.437 and Randstad (AMS:RAND) was down 1.60% or 0.94 points to 57.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep (AMS:ING), which fell 5.52% or 0.855 points to trade at 14.630 at the close. Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) declined 5.28% or 7.00 points to end at 125.65 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 4.63% or 4.57 points to 94.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 210 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 17.59% to 26.40 a new 6-months high.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.00% or 1.19 to $58.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.16% or 1.36 to hit $61.90 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.60 to trade at $1177.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7092.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.30.
