Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 3.22%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AS:TNTE), which fell 0.13% or 0.010 points to trade at 7.894 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS:HEIN) fell 0.87% or 0.66 points to end at 74.80 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 1.46% or 3.30 points to 222.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OCI (AS:OCI), which fell 9.80% or 1.540 points to trade at 14.175 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 8.89% or 1.16 points to end at 11.83 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 7.41% or 0.26 points to 3.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 155 to 8 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in OCI (AS:OCI) fell to all time lows; down 9.80% or 1.540 to 14.175.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 13.02% to 32.85.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.20% or 0.68 to $30.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.38% or 0.47 to hit $33.59 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 3.05% or 35.30 to trade at $1193.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7744.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.89.
