Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 2.58%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which rose 0.75% or 0.28 points to trade at 36.99 at the close. Meanwhile, TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) fell 0.12% or 0.009 points to end at 7.527 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was down 0.98% or 0.63 points to 63.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 3.71% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.12 at the close. DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) declined 3.19% or 1.50 points to end at 45.41 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 3.18% or 0.74 points to 22.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 136 to 30 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to all time lows; falling 3.71% or 0.35 to 9.12.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 13.16% to 33.93.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 7.88% or 3.88 to $45.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 8.70% or 4.71 to hit $49.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.20 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.1299, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.7382.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.55% at 95.43.
