Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Telecoms and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which rose 1.52% or 0.68 points to trade at 45.30 at the close. Meanwhile, TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) fell 0.12% or 0.009 points to end at 7.680 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 0.88% or 0.24 points to 27.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB), which fell 3.48% or 1.01 points to trade at 28.16 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 3.07% or 0.31 points to end at 9.70 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) was down 2.95% or 3.60 points to 118.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 189 to 55 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.15% to 19.20.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 3.57% or 2.06 to $59.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.64% or 2.27 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1189.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0979, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 97.05.
