Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which rose 1.27% or 0.12 points to trade at 10.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 0.95% or 0.53 points to end at 56.03 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was down 0.09% or 0.007 points to 7.642 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Kon (AMS:PHG), which fell 4.99% or 1.38 points to trade at 26.27 at the close. Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) declined 4.83% or 4.96 points to end at 97.79 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) was down 2.62% or 0.46 points to 17.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 193 to 62.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.63% to 20.25.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.19 to $57.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.29% or 0.18 to hit $65.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.81% or 9.80 to trade at $1213.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.0963, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7161.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 96.31.
