Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.02%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 2.59% or 0.51 points to trade at 20.21 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AS:NN) added 1.62% or 0.47 points to end at 29.57 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.85% or 1.75 points to 207.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa), which fell 3.57% or 0.840 points to trade at 22.660 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.72% or 0.178 points to end at 6.371 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 2.07% or 0.66 points to 31.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 119 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.88% to 20.19.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.80% or 1.25 to $43.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.73% or 1.25 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.61% or 33.05 to trade at $1233.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.0841, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.8599.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 99.05.
