Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Software & Computer Services and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.92% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which rose 2.45% or 0.40 points to trade at 16.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon (AMS:AEGN) added 1.30% or 0.089 points to end at 6.936 and NN Group (AMS:NN) was up 0.60% or 0.15 points to 26.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AMS:GTO), which fell 3.73% or 3.10 points to trade at 80.09 at the close. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) declined 3.20% or 1.50 points to end at 45.18 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) was down 2.64% or 6.35 points to 234.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 185 to 64 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.96% to 22.52.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.23% or 0.74 to $61.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.85% or 0.57 to hit $68.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.20 to trade at $1189.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.33% to 1.1335, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.7440.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.06% at 94.26.
