Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.73% or 0.840 points to trade at 49.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) added 0.89% or 0.55 points to end at 62.46 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was up 0.77% or 0.35 points to 46.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which fell 2.04% or 0.075 points to trade at 3.605 at the close. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) declined 1.50% or 0.40 points to end at 26.22 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 1.36% or 0.076 points to 5.509.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 91 to 67 and 15 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.47% to 16.29.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.09% or 0.04 to $44.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.57% or 0.75 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.58% or 20.95 to trade at $1347.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.1242, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8368.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.87% at 94.91.
