Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN), which rose 2.31% or 0.95 points to trade at 42.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) added 1.98% or 0.42 points to end at 21.61 and Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) was up 1.51% or 0.59 points to 39.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AMS:ATCA), which fell 9.32% or 1.75 points to trade at 16.98 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 4.31% or 0.144 points to end at 3.200 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was down 3.84% or 0.18 points to 4.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 102 to 64 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.84% or 0.18 to 4.48.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.96% to 31.11.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.18% or 0.08 to $45.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.80% or 0.39 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1114.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7384.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 96.23.
