Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Media, Consumer Services and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 6.87% or 7.20 points to trade at 112.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) added 1.16% or 0.33 points to end at 28.34 and ING Groep (AMS:ING) was up 0.81% or 0.115 points to 14.335 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc), which fell 3.98% or 1.15 points to trade at 27.61 at the close. Aegon (AMS:AEGN) declined 3.05% or 0.218 points to end at 6.926 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) was down 1.54% or 0.69 points to 44.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 139 to 108 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) rose to all time highs; rising 6.87% or 7.20 to 112.05.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.48% to 20.06.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.77% or 0.47 to $61.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.41% or 0.95 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.96% or 23.40 to trade at $1215.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.38% to 1.1368, while EUR/GBP rose 0.88% to 0.7219.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.15% at 93.61.
