Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AMS:GTO), which rose 0.88% or 0.71 points to trade at 81.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AMS:HEIN) added 0.52% or 0.37 points to end at 71.22 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was up 0.51% or 0.20 points to 38.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which fell 2.41% or 0.25 points to trade at 10.12 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) declined 2.03% or 4.95 points to end at 238.90 and Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) was down 1.89% or 0.87 points to 45.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 156 to 93 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.96% to 17.91 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.20% or 0.12 to $60.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.74% or 0.49 to hit $66.31 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1226.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7242.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 94.00.
