Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Construction & Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 3.39%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which rose 8.65% or 0.41 points to trade at 5.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) added 4.96% or 1.08 points to end at 22.95 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) was up 4.42% or 0.34 points to 8.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 2.03% or 0.139 points to trade at 6.698 at the close. Relx NV (AMS:RELN) added 0.82% or 0.120 points to end at 14.670 and Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) was up 1.23% or 0.49 points to 40.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 150 to 22 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.43% to 28.02.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.46% or 1.12 to $46.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.88% or 1.39 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.30 to trade at $1133.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1180, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.7384.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.27.
