Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.72% or 2.125 points to trade at 47.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 3.37% or 1.68 points to end at 51.46 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 3.21% or 0.095 points to 3.056 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which fell 1.33% or 0.048 points to trade at 3.557 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 0.95% or 0.038 points to end at 3.968 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 0.34% or 0.04 points to 13.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 143 to 28 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aegon (AS:AEGN) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.33% or 0.048 to 3.557.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 12.75% to 27.67.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.16% or 1.00 to $47.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.99% or 0.95 to hit $48.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.54% or 7.15 to trade at $1317.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1063, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8312.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 96.29.
