Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AMS:KPN), which rose 3.12% or 0.099 points to trade at 3.268 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep (AMS:ING) added 2.57% or 0.345 points to end at 13.795 and Philips Kon (AMS:PHG) was up 2.27% or 0.60 points to 27.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which fell 1.01% or 0.51 points to trade at 50.10 at the close. Aegon (AMS:AEGN) declined 0.56% or 0.041 points to end at 7.257 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) was down 0.30% or 0.30 points to 100.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 196 to 57 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.40% to 20.28.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.99% or 0.57 to $57.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.17 to hit $63.62 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.10 to trade at $1194.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7218.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 98.03.
