Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 2.02% or 0.205 points to trade at 10.330 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.68% or 0.072 points to end at 4.362 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.13% or 0.52 points to 46.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 1.23% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.17 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.00% or 2.35 points to end at 233.75 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was down 0.86% or 0.17 points to 18.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 103 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.06% to 21.05.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.03% or 0.50 to $48.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.77% or 0.38 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.33% or 4.15 to trade at $1272.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 1.35% to 0.7717.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.74.
