Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.37% or 2.180 points to trade at 52.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Philips Kon (AS:PHG) added 1.71% or 0.43 points to end at 25.88 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 1.70% or 1.53 points to 91.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which fell 2.14% or 1.29 points to trade at 58.97 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 0.83% or 1.95 points to end at 233.25 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was down 0.20% or 0.16 points to 77.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 105 to 50 and 17 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.51% to 17.32.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.33% or 0.58 to $44.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.12% or 0.97 to hit $46.82 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.65 to trade at $1319.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1239, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.36.
