Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which rose 3.00% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) added 1.89% or 0.36 points to end at 19.45 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 1.87% or 0.43 points to 23.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which fell 2.83% or 0.320 points to trade at 11.000 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) declined 1.89% or 0.58 points to end at 30.41 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was down 1.38% or 0.26 points to 18.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 91 to 67 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.47% to 19.27.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.23% or 0.54 to $44.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.40% or 0.64 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.59% or 7.35 to trade at $1250.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.39.
