Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which rose 1.31% or 0.39 points to trade at 30.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 1.24% or 0.68 points to end at 55.51 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 0.85% or 0.68 points to 81.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AS:RAND), which fell 1.23% or 0.51 points to trade at 40.60 at the close. Vopak (AS:VOPA) declined 0.94% or 0.45 points to end at 47.30 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.94% or 0.36 points to 38.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 105 to 54 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.03% to 16.57.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.43% or 1.08 to $45.57 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.41% or 1.13 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 4.15 to trade at $1347.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8691.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 95.55.
