Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 1.74% or 0.67 points to trade at 39.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) added 1.50% or 0.28 points to end at 19.25 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 1.46% or 0.049 points to 3.409 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 12.14% or 0.56 points to trade at 4.08 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) declined 3.87% or 0.43 points to end at 10.81 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was down 2.55% or 0.57 points to 21.77.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 84 to 77 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.61% to 22.13.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.64% or 1.18 to $43.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.61% or 1.64 to hit $43.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.12% or 27.45 to trade at $1266.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1399, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7913.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 94.06.
