Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Electrical & Electronic equipment, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were S2M (CS:S2M), which rose 5.98% or 13.40 points to trade at 237.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Auto Nejma (CS:NEJ1) added 5.95% or 84 points to end at 1494 and Oulmes (CS:OULM) was up 5.78% or 70 points to 1280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which fell 6.00% or 8.70 points to trade at 136.30 at the close. Timar (CS:TIM) declined 6.00% or 24.00 points to end at 376.00 and Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) was down 6.00% or 6.36 points to 99.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 30 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in S2M (CS:S2M) rose to 3-years highs; up 5.98% or 13.40 to 237.40. Shares in Oulmes (CS:OULM) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.78% or 70 to 1280.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.13% or 0.05 to $38.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.33% or 0.13 to hit $39.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.66% or 8.20 to trade at $1229.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.03% to 10.9230, while USD/MAD fell 0.00% to 9.6685.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 94.90.
