Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Holding Companies, Invest Companies & Other Finance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Managem (CS:MNG), which rose 9.98% or 86 points to trade at 942 at the close. Meanwhile, SMI (CS:SMI) added 5.96% or 154 points to end at 2734 and Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL) was up 5.61% or 124 points to 2334 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC), which fell 6.00% or 8.10 points to trade at 126.90 at the close. Bmce Bank (CS:BMCE) declined 3.97% or 8.50 points to end at 205.50 and Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) was down 3.55% or 1.77 points to 48.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 18 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.59% or 1.11 to $41.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.92% or 1.32 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 5.65 to trade at $1333.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.01% to 10.8390, while USD/MAD fell 0.07% to 9.8605.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.30.
