Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electrical & Electronic equipment, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which rose 9.97% or 14.90 points to trade at 164.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Risma (CS:RIS) added 4.34% or 8.80 points to end at 211.35 and Douja Prom Addoha (CS:ADH) was up 4.12% or 1.20 points to 30.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alliances (CS:ADI), which fell 9.82% or 6 points to trade at 52 at the close. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 6.27% or 5.49 points to end at 82.01 and Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA) was down 5.93% or 1.57 points to 24.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 21 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alliances (CS:ADI) fell to all time lows; down 9.82% or 6 to 52. Shares in Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.27% or 5.49 to 82.01. Shares in Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA) fell to all time lows; falling 5.93% or 1.57 to 24.90.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.32% or 1.32 to $55.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.65% or 1.65 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.00 to trade at $1167.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.14% to 10.8370, while USD/MAD fell 0.15% to 9.7495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.22.
