Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Construction & Building Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Samir (CS:SAMI), which rose 5.19% or 8.00 points to trade at 162.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Lafarge Ciments (CS:LAC) added 4.77% or 79 points to end at 1734 and Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) was up 4.46% or 169 points to 3950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stroc Industrie (CS:STR), which fell 3.45% or 3.80 points to trade at 106.10 at the close. Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) declined 1.85% or 3.50 points to end at 185.00 and Ib Maroc.Com (CS:IBMC) was down 1.73% or 1.70 points to 98.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.42% or 0.24 to $57.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $65.12 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.28% or 26.80 to trade at $1201.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.07% to 10.7560, while USD/MAD fell 0.14% to 9.8759.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.84.
