Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 4.57% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.67% or 1.360 points to trade at 52.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) fell 0.28% or 0.080 points to end at 28.700 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was down 0.86% or 0.800 points to 92.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which fell 11.65% or 7.890 points to trade at 59.820 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 10.04% or 3.620 points to end at 32.450 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 9.93% or 8.280 points to 75.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 115 to 69 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) rose to all time highs; rising 2.67% or 1.360 to 52.210.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.22% or 15.50 to $1258.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.21% or 1.00 to hit $44.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.09 to trade at $45.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 20.5861, while EUR/MXN fell 0.08% to 22.4025.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 98.79.
