Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 3.50% or 0.590 points to trade at 17.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 3.18% or 2.26 points to end at 73.25 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 2.05% or 1.040 points to 51.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which fell 5.20% or 3.790 points to trade at 69.120 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 5.21% or 2.260 points to end at 41.100 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 5.06% or 1.780 points to 33.390.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 82 to 50 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) rose to all time highs; up 2.05% or 1.040 to 51.700. Shares in Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.06% or 1.780 to 33.390.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.09% or 1.00 to $1129.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 5.22% or 1.65 to hit $29.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.47% or 1.53 to trade at $32.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.44% to 18.4946, while EUR/MXN rose 1.76% to 20.1942.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 98.85.
