Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.35% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.69% or 0.710 points to trade at 42.760 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 0.50% or 0.540 points to end at 107.700 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 0.47% or 1.790 points to 385.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 5.60% or 0.630 points to trade at 10.610 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 3.91% or 1.210 points to end at 29.700 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was down 3.87% or 3.680 points to 91.530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 119 to 64 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.91% or 1.210 to 29.700. Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.47% or 1.790 to 385.040.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.57% or 7.50 to $1329.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.97% or 0.94 to hit $46.70 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.86 to trade at $48.18 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.39% to 19.1943, while EUR/MXN rose 0.49% to 21.1494.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.99% at 96.58.
