Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 1.12% or 0.34 points to trade at 30.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 0.06% or 0.020 points to end at 33.250 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) was up 0.01% or 0.020 points to 214.810 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 3.14% or 0.460 points to trade at 14.160 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 3.06% or 3.810 points to end at 120.870 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 2.48% or 6.790 points to 265.310.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 87 to 44 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.52% or 6.20 to $1204.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.17% or 0.67 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.28 to trade at $63.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.98% to 15.3211, while EUR/MXN rose 1.43% to 16.5615.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 97.61.
