Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 1.23% or 0.220 points to trade at 17.950 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 0.74% or 0.23 points to end at 31.40 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 0.68% or 0.180 points to 26.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which fell 2.60% or 5.180 points to trade at 194.400 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 2.49% or 2.570 points to end at 100.500 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 2.30% or 0.920 points to 39.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 93 to 39 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1194.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.19 to trade at $56.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 14.9926, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 16.4459.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 97.10.
