Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 5.60% or 0.960 points to trade at 18.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) added 3.95% or 1.120 points to end at 29.530 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 2.30% or 1.110 points to 49.460 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which fell 3.11% or 1.000 points to trade at 31.150 at the close. Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) declined 3.10% or 2.000 points to end at 62.570 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 2.97% or 0.95 points to 30.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 81 to 56 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 2.24% or 27.10 to $1182.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.89% or 1.10 to hit $59.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.88 to trade at $66.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.69% to 15.3343, while EUR/MXN rose 1.60% to 17.2080.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 94.87.
