Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 3.07% or 1.03 points to trade at 34.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 1.93% or 0.740 points to end at 39.020 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.75% or 0.600 points to 34.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 2.82% or 1.310 points to trade at 45.170 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.40% or 4.190 points to end at 170.500 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was down 2.35% or 0.680 points to 28.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 86 to 38 and 33 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1168.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.93% or 2.73 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.00% or 0.01 to trade at $56.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.09% to 15.7344, while EUR/MXN fell 0.32% to 17.3978.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.43.
