Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB), which rose 4.81% or 2.000 points to trade at 43.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.18% or 0.690 points to end at 22.510 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) was up 2.37% or 1.350 points to 58.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 2.61% or 0.910 points to trade at 33.860 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) declined 2.27% or 3.450 points to end at 148.040 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 2.14% or 1.570 points to 71.570.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 88 to 67 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.70% or 8.10 to $1145.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.22% or 0.55 to hit $45.46 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.21 to trade at $48.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.55% to 16.9645, while EUR/MXN rose 0.35% to 19.0140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.28.
