Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.27% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.86% or 16.960 points to trade at 456.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 2.81% or 0.89 points to end at 32.59 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 2.80% or 2.28 points to 83.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which fell 3.11% or 0.770 points to trade at 24.020 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.51% or 0.81 points to end at 31.47 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was down 2.23% or 3.650 points to 160.270.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 104 to 78 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.11% or 0.770 to 24.020.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1224.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.09% or 0.50 to hit $45.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.04 to trade at $46.40 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.02% to 20.2199, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.6268.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 100.38.
